Worries regarding the end of civilization are really flaring up most recently. Although it has always been something everyone ponders during the course f their life, more and more are becoming greatly concerned. Especially with big screen productions coming around the bend likethe 2012 Movie and the Mayan calendar nearing its end!
As if everyday life with family, work and the tough economy isn’t making you break out in hives already. Now the public is being bombarded by the scary thought of the Apocalypse with an array of opinions shooting off from novelists and scientists eveywhere!
“It’s always on people’s minds, especially now with wars breaking out and the economy the way it is,” stated Mike Williams of Novi. “Over the last couple of months, I’ve been seeing (apocalyptic pop culture) going up and up.”
And with all these apocalypse predictions, the scary date of Dec. 21, 2012 (when the ancient Mayan calendar comes to an end) educated guesses and scientific facts floating around, who do you believe or what do you believe?
One of the explanations regarding the Mayan Calender’s end is that “the Maya never said the world is going to end, they never said anything bad would happen necessarily, they’re just recording this future anniversary on Monument Six.”

I think it is just a sign to tell people that they are living for all the wrong reasons and if we continue to lust lie and kill there will soon be an end

Based on an axial shift of the earth crust & loosly based on mayan calender cycliptic events,such as gallactic alignment which does actually happen on dec 21 2012, same as the end of the mayan long count calender,a baktun containing a set amount of time, is the heart of the system of the maya. Because of the gravitational forces exerted on our solar system, mainly our star, the sun. This will start the beginning of the end. Our sun will in turn flip its magnetic field which will start a chain reaction. Earth’s magnetic field will also “flip” & in doing so will slow the rotation of the earth’s inner core until it comes to a stop. Then it will proceed to spin in the opposite direction. That in turn will force the earth’s crust to “detach” from it’s slurry/half-solid manntle & shift many miles(possibly hundreds or thousands). That “shift” of the crust will destabilize all of the earths oceans & bodies of water. Causing volcanic eruptions & earthquakes the likes that mankind has not seen in over 26,000 years.

Hi,
Why do people think 2012 will be the end of the world? I mean what if the Mayans ment that was the end of the way things worked now. Sort of age unlike that of the previous ones. That this new age starting at 2012 will not be a repeat cycle like before. Strange movie idea though.
