Johnny Depp is the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland

Tim Burton’s highly anticipated adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland promises to pack a big punch. Johnny Depp stars as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter plays the Red Queen, Anne Hathaway plays the White Queen, and Mia Wasikowska plays Alice. Talk about an awesome cast with a lot of promise!

Promotional photos have been released (click here to see them), and they do not disappoint. Johnny Depp looks AMAZING as the Mad Hatter - those eyebrows are fierce! He’s the part I’m most excited about. I love him as a character actor, and the Mad Hatter definitely gives him a lot to play with. Helena Bonham Carter also looks amazing as the Red Queen… although her head does take on bobble-head like proportions. I don’t remember that from the old cartoon, but maybe I’m just forgetting.

The scenes these crazy characters have been placed in are extremely Burton-esqe, and there is no doubt from a quick glance that this is Tim’s adaptation of the old classic. They are very fantasy filled and a wee bit trippy, but very very cool looking - at least in my opinion. What do y’all think?
