Land of the Lost is an upcoming film, based on the classic TV series. Flaunting an extraordinary cast, it will star Anna Friel as Holly, a brainy research assistant. Friel will star alongside mega-star Will Ferrel and Danny McBride, in this comedy adventure.

The movie revolves around Dr. Rick Marshall, who goes through a space-time vortex and ends up way back in time. Now Marshall lacks the weapons and skills to endure an alternate universe, plagued with killer dinosaurs and incredible creatures. Luckily for him a research assistant named Holly, and a redneck survivalist named Will are sucked through he vortex as well. With out any knowledge of The Land of the Lost, the three must rely on a primate named Chaka to lead them back to there time.

The film is set to open June 5.

Anna Friel Biography

Anna Louise Friel was born July 12, 1976. She is an English actress from Rochdale, located in Greater Manchester. In her teenage years she went to the Crompton House Church of England High School. At 13 she made her acting debut for a drama serial called G.B.H., this lead her to appearing in other British TV shows including Emmerdale, the soap opera Brookside, and Beth Jordache. In 1995, Friel received the National Television Award for Most Popular Actress for her role in Brookside.

Friel has a daughter, Gracie Ellen Mary Friel, with actor David Thewlis, who she began her relationship with in 2001.

Throughout her career she has been nominated or won several awards including a Golden Globe (nominee) for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series, Satellite Award (Nominee) for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series, Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play, TV Time Award for Best Actress, and TV Quick Magazine Award for Best Newcomer.

Friel is a supporter of the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign, alongside other celebrities such as Alan Carr, Angela Griffin, Edith Bowman, Twiggy, and Natalie Imburglia.
