Actress Renee Zellweger has officially squashed all rumors surrounding a possible Bridget Jones sequel that was said to be in the works. Previously reported by Variety back in July that the movie was in development under Working Title Films, Zellweger revealed otherwise in a recent interview.
The Hollywood starlet, who appeared in the first two successful movies based on the charcter created by Helen Fielding, recently spoke with E! Online’s Mark Malkin about Bridget Jones 3 stating “I get asked every single day and I don’t know anything. It’s a rumor!”
Zellweger also declared that starring in a Bridget Jones stage musical would be “weird”. So for now it looks like fans will have to wait and see if anything does come down the pike.
