Some may see it as a surprising development, as Omarosa rose to notoriety for displaying characteristics which may not bring to mind adjectives like “pastoral” or “ministering” in her clashes with other contestants on the shows, notably with Piers Morgan. She is known also for the Omarosa Wendy Williams showdown on the latter’s new TV show which found her too much for the normally aggressive “shock jock” talk show host to handle.

Yet the Omarosa ministry story is not a rumor, but fact.

As reported by the Dayton Daily News, the former reality TV villain begins her studies at the United Theological Seminary in Dayton on Monday, August 17. According to Ivan Hicks, UTC associate dean for African-American studies at the school, the Omarosa ministry transformation will involve her pursuit of a doctor of ministry, a course of study which will take approximately two years to complete. He told the newspaper:

“She has expressed a calling in her life and it is our opportunity to provide leadership and guidance as she makes a transformation. We’re excited about her coming to school at UTS.”

Addressing her history of controversial behavior, Hicks noted:

“Some of the good things and bad things we’ve done in our lives help us to actually relate and to be more widely accepted as a minister.”

He went on to say that Omarosa Manigault Stallworth, whom he has previously known from his home church in Washington, DC, The Metropolitan Baptist Church, has done charitable work with the homeless and with the poor in Haiti. Omarosa is a graduate of Central State University, which is near Dayton, Ohio, and she is originally from Youngston, Ohio.

CNN Entertainment/Showbiz received a statement from the United Theological Seminary revealing that the school offered her a scholarship through their Baptist House of Studies and that Omarosa herself will soon release a statement. Regarding the school itself, the statement reveals that the school “is one of the 13 United Methodist Seminaries in the United States and has a long and celebrated history with the African American Church and social justice advocacy.”

Additionally CNN reports that Omarosa told Sister to Sister Magazine:

“I feel like God is calling me. He’s been calling me for two years and I can’t ignore it.”

That is the latest news on Omarosa becoming a minister, as she begins her theological seminary studies. More Omarosa Manigault Stallworth photos and video below.
