In “The Polar Express” which is based on Chris Van Allsburg’s bestselling children’s book of the same title, Daryl Sabara’s Hero Boy is initially uncertain of his belief in Christmas and Santa Claus and takes a journey to the North Pole on board a magical train, whose conductor is voiced by Tom Hanks. The movie, which uses performance capture technology, incorporating the movements of live actors into animated characters, is broadcast annually on ABC Family Channel and the Disney Channel during the holiday season.

Daryl Sabara will appear in another Robert Zemeckis holiday movie, “A Christmas Carol,” based on the Charles Dickens classic, which is set for release on November 9, 2009.

As a biography, Daryl Sabara was born on June 14, 1992 in Torrance, California so his age is 16. His full name is Daryl Christopher Sabara. He has a fraternal twin brother, Evan Sabara, who is also an actor. His mother is Sandy Sabara. He is a student at West High School and intends to study film in college. He has studied ballet since he was three years old and got his start in the performing arts at age four as a dancer with South Bay Ballet, a regional ballet company. He also has training in gymnastics and tae kwon do.

He began his acting career in the mid 1990s on television, appearing as a guest star on several programs including “Life’s Work,” “Love & Money,” “Roswell,” “Murphy Brown,” “Will and Grace,” and “Friends.”

When he was eight years old, Daryl Sabara rose to stardom when he appeared in “Spy Kids,” and the sequels, “Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams,” and ” Spy Kids 3D: Game Over.” Spy Kids is a family action franchise from directer and writer Robert Rodriguez in which Sabara portrays Juni Cortez, a creative spy kid and the younger brother of teen spy Carmen Cortez, portrayed by Alexa Vega. He has continued to make appearances on TV, on “Keeping Up with the Steins,” and “Halloween.” He was a judge on the reality TV show “America’s Most Talented Kids.” He will appear in Andrew Robinson’s “April Showers,” set for release in 2009.
