The movie “Soul Men” is about soul-singing legends who reunite 20 years after the death of their band leader. The movie will now take a whole new meaning as both Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes, who have recently passed, are in the film.

The film takes on a whole new meaning after the events that occurred over the weekend. The entertainment world lost two legends.

Bernie Mac passed away on Saturday after a battle with pneumonia. Mac was well liked and respected, not only in the entertainment world, but also in his hometown of Chicago.

“He made it big, but it didn’t seem to go to his head. He could have lived anywhere in the world. But he stayed close to where he came from.”

A day later, music legend Isaac Hayes was found dead in his home. He was reportedly laying by a treadmill in his basement that was still running leading people to believe he was working out. Hayes was said to have previously suffered from a mild stroke and had high blood pressure. The music world, in particular the Soulsville Foundation, is mourning his loss.

“The Soulsville Foundation, which operates the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, Stax Music Academy, and The Soulsville Charter School, is so deeply saddened by the passing of Isaac Hayes that we are in state of shock. Isaac is one of the most beloved members of the Stax family and we all cherish him. He will be missed not only by us, but also by the entire world and the millions of people who love him as much as we do.”

Hopefully, “Soul Men” will serve as a wonderful, last tribute to Mac and Hayes. The film is set to release November 14th. You can see live footage of the movie being filmed on the streets of Memphis and photos of the two men below.

James Franco wears a fake penis in his new film “Milk.” His prosthetic manhood was so impressive, co-star Sean Penn thought it was real.

The film is a biopic on Harvey Milk, California’s first openly gay elected official. Milk was elected to San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors in 1977. A year later, he and George Moscone, the mayor, were shot to death by former city supervisor, Dan White. Penn plays Milk while Josh Brolin takes on the role of Dan White. Rumor has it Matt Damon was originally supposed to play White. Franco plays Penn’s love interest.

As for the nude scene involving Franco and Penn, it takes place at a swimming pool.

“This scene went on for a long time, like half the day, and it’s getting old… and I go over to Sean and I guess he didn’t know that I was wearing a prosthetic. “I go, `Sean, you’re such a great actor but you wouldn’t do a scene like this if they asked you; you wouldn’t dive into a pool naked.’ “And he said… `Well James, if I was built like you, I would.’

As filming continued, Sean eventually figured out the secret behind Franco’s gift of gerth. How do you get that job…fake penis builder? And how about Franco? He went from “Spiderman 3,” to” Pineapple Express,” to this film all while taking classes at UCLA. In the fall he’ll be attending two graduate schools.

Christina Aguilera is mostly known for her singing and has appeared on numerous movie soundtracks with her most recent being the song Ain’t No Other Man for “Get Smart.” But now she’s appearing as herself in a David Lachapelle nude photo which is just surfacing. You can see the picture below.

The girl is sitting on a barrel attempting to look seductive when in actuality, I think she’s worried about the placement of her foot. The whole thing is a bit strange. Reinforcing the strangeness is Pamela Anderson who also took part in the shoot, but she’s wearing clothes. You’ll have to see for yourself here. Oh, and did I forget to mention Christina is completely nude so NSFW!

You can tell it’s an old photo because her hair is short and she just looks younger. Apparently, she was 27. As if that photo wasn’t enough, there are plenty more of Christina below.

The rumors that swirled yesterday regarding Shia LaBeouf and his pinky finger are false. He will not need to have his finger removed after all, despite internet reports that he might.

The accident that Shia Labeouf was in last month did quite a bit of damage to his left hand. He underwent reconstructive surgery for what doctors deemed as a crushed hand. What was he doing with that hand? Sticking it out the window when he flipped over?

Luckily, after a 2 hour surgery, Shia’s hand seems to be on the road to recovery. Doctors shot down reports that he was facing an amputation of his pinky finger after the news broke yesterday. If you see pictures of him wearing his cast, his pinky isn’t even in the cast!

Due to his injury, production of Transformers 2 - which also stars Megan Fox, has been slowed. Not stalled, because director Michael Bay is trying to work around the incident. Can’t they just write a cast in to the script? Digitally remove it? They are spending tens of millions of dollars on CGI anyway, it seems like a little cast would hardly stop them! Get well soon, Shia.

“Disaster Movie” is from the same guys who brought you “Scary Movie, “Date Movie,” “Epic Movie” and “Meet the Spartans.” You know what you’re getting into when you spend your hard earned money to see one of these awful films, so just watch the trailer below and then check this one off your list.

The one funny part has got to be the “Sex in the City” meets “Juno” scene. The visual of a man playing Carrie Bradshaw in a hideous dress with a flower that looks like it could attract every bee within a 100 mile radius actually made me crack a smile. Otherwise, it looks brutal.

“Disaster Movie” follows the comic misadventures of a group of ridiculously attractive twenty-somethings during one faithful night as they try to make their way to safety while every known natural disaster and catastrophic event hits the city and their path as they try to solve a series of mysteries to end the rampant distruction.”

The only purpose for these films seems to be keeping Carmen Electra in the acting business. Although this time she is joined by fellow Z-listers Kim Kardashian and Vanessa Minnillo. The three women aren’t bad to look at so I put some of their photos after the jump. I think someone at comingsoon.net put it best when they said, “Do we really need anymore of these types of movies? I wouldn’t even waste my hard drive space to illegally download this crap.” Like I said, check out the trailer below, then update your Netflix queue with something worth watching.

Eat, Love, Pray is based on a bestselling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert. Gilbert wrote the book as she struggled in her personal life after a divorce. The three things she did to get through it: eat, love and pray.

Julia Roberts has had a long and very successful career as an actress. Julia was born in October of 1967. Her first movie role was in 1987, where she was unnamed in the film! The movie roles were small until she landed the lead role in Pretty Woman, where her hooker character was picked up by Richard Gere’s character. That movie, along with her small role in Steel Magnolia’s the year before, put her star on the map.

Julia has appeared in movies like Ocean’s Eleven and Twelve, Pretty Woman, Notting Hill, My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Mexican and Charlotte’s Web. Some of her starring roles are with big co-stars as well. She has appeared alongside of Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Richard Gere, Andy Garcia, Joan Cusack, Kirsten Dust, Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Clive Owen, Susan Sarandon, Robin Williams, Kiefer Sutherland, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Cameron Diaz, John Malkovich and Hugh Grant - just to name a few!

Eat, Pray, Love will not begin filming until 2009 and is not scheduled to be released until 2010.

Every once in awhile there are mid-week movie releases that come just in time to get you through. For me this is one of those weeks, and I’ll be watching a double feature tomorrow night: “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2″ to get the tears out, and “Pineapple Express” to laugh afterward. A perfect combo.

I have to admit, it’s the MIA “Paper Planes” song that makes me want to see this movie more than I otherwise would - brilliant song selection on the trailer maker’s part. In the movie, which looks to be hilarious, Seth Rogen plays Dale Denton, a process server who enjoys smoking marijuana every now and again. But when Dale drops his joint at a murder scene, a joint that holds a very rare strain of the good stuff, Dale and his dealer, played by James Franco, hit the road to hide, chased by a drug lord and a crooked cop.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2

If the sequel is anything like the original, grab a box of Kleenex, because it seems like the producers had one goal when making the first one - cry, ladies. The girls are back, played by Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively, and Alexis Beldel, and still growing as individuals and as friends. But don’t be nervous that it’s just the same thing over again. Critics are saying the movie a “thoroughly engaging sequel”

Dances With Wolves is finally getting a sequel, eighteen years after the original movie made Kevin Costner a star. Granted, he was already a star, but that movie put him on the ‘famous’ map. See more photos and video of Kevin Costner below.

The name of the film is The Holy Road, which is being written by Michael Blake, who wrote the two books on the story and the first movie. The Dances With Wolves Sequel began production in November of 2007, but Kevin Costner was not asked to take part. Which is too bad, considering Sylvester Stallone can continue being Rambo and Rocky at his age, which is much older than Kevin’s age. Kevin was even director of the first movie!

The film storyline begins 11 years after we left the characters in the first movie and continues in their sad saga.

Dances With Wolves also starred Mary McDonnell and Graham Greene. The film was a true epic and lasted over three hours long! That was unheard of for the time and a western, to boot.

The movie was so well received, it went on to win seven Academy Awards, three Golden Globes, a Grammy, a Writer’s Guild of America Award and many other international acclaims.

Morgan Freeman is in serious condition and recuperating at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee after a car accident Saturday. He and a female passenger were in his car when it suddenly left the road, went airborne, and then flipped several times, according to MSNBC. There is no other update to his condition, other than the hospital rep saying he is in serious condition. His passenger’s name in the car accident has not been released nor her condition, but it was reportedly not his wife. This year has not been good to the stars of his current film, The Dark Knight. We all know what happened to Heath Ledger, then with Christian Bale and his family. Now this serious accident with Morgan Freeman….kind of creepy!

Morgan Freeman’s most recent work is in The Dark Knight, the blockbuster hit of the summer which also co-stars Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. Morgan also appears alongside Angelina Jolie in Wanted, which was released in June.

Jennifer and Sly were spotted over the weekend on entrepreneur Philip Green’s yacht in the Balearic island of Formentera. Looks like the whole family came along.

Jennifer Flavin was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 14, 1968, which makes her age 39. Jenn will be turning the big 40 in a few days. She looks absolutely amazing. Her measurements are 5′ 9″ with an unbelievable physique. I guess the pressure is on when you’re married to Rocky. In fact, Mr. Stallone is looking great at 62-years-old. The couple were married on May 17, 1997 and have been going strong for 11 years. I guess the third time is the charm for Stallone. They have three daughters, Sophia Rose, Sistine Rose and Scarlet Rose. Although the marriage seems fine, Flavin’s relationship with her mother-in-law is not.

“Frankly I don’t like her, she’s not my type. She doesn’t like me either.

“She pretended to like me for 10 years and then the day she hooked him, she said, ‘Now listen Jackie, I am married now. I have my own mother. I have my own life. I think you understand, don’t you?’

Flavin’s acting career does not compare to that of her husband. She had a part in the television series “Bar Girls” and then appeared briefly in “Rocky V” and with Sylvester in his boxing show “The Contender.” She does own a skin care line called Seriesse International. You may have seen her selling it on the HSN.

It’s a good thing there’s mid-week movies releasing on the big screen this week because there’s not much in the way of small screen films. The DVDs releasing this week are “Nim’s Island” and “Starship Troopers 3″.

Abigail Breslin and Jodie Foster star in this family adventure movie about an author who’s never left her home and a little girl in need of help from the world’s greatest adventure author. When Abigail’s father is lost at sea and her island comes under attack, she enlists the help of her favorite author, Jodie Foster. But Jodie is not the person she lets on in the books, so it’s an adventure for everyone. The critics have generally been pleased, calling the movie a story of “girl power” and “cute and imaginative”.

Starship Troopers 3: Marauder

The third installment in this sci-fi adventure comedy is nothing new if you’ve seen the first two. Johnny Rico is called back into action to fight the bugs, and he gets into some trouble along the way. It’s a directly to DVD movie, so don’t get too excited.

People is reporting Kyle and Lauren Conrad have been spotted at numerous parties in Los Angeles after being introduced by Brody Jenner.

“[They] have been seen together at Crown Bar on July 23 – “Almost on top of each other,” a witness says – and a few days later at Project Beach House in Malibu and at jazz night at Teddy’s at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.”

Lauren contests that she is single and Kyle isn’t talking. But by the looks of his MySpace page the two are just friends. The page says “in a relationship” and he has several pictures of another girl. Either that or he needs to update.

Kyle Howard was born in Loveland, Colorado on April 13, 1978 which makes his age 30. His first acting gig was at 13 when he worked in a dinner theatre. He continued acting throughout his teens, getting roles in plays like “The Sound of Music,” “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” and “Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.” Howard eventually saved enough money, some through having a paper route, to make the move to LA.

As a filmography, Howard has starred in “Orange County,” “Skeletons,” “Robo Warriors,” “Address Unknown,” “Paper Brigade” and House Arrest with Jamie Lee Curtis. His latest movie “Made for Each Other” just recently finished filming. Howard has also made appearances on several television shows, including “Friends,” “CSI” and “8 Simple Rules.”

Michael Rady’s latest movie, “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2″, will release on Wednesday, August 6. There is already a lot of buzz for the film, as the original did so well last summer. He plays Kostas, the Greek fling of Alexis Bledel’s character.

As a biography, Michael Rady was born on August 20, 1981, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, so his age is 26. His measurements are 6′.

In 2005, Michael was nominated for two Teen Choice Awards, in the categories Choice Movie Breakout Performance - Male and Choice Movie Love Scene. The nominations stemmed from the first “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”, which was Michael’s first professional acting role. He says he learned the Greek accent in four days with intensive training with a dialect coach. Since then, he has appeared in several movies and television shows, including “Swingtown”, the new hit summer series on CBS. He is reportedly joining the cast of “Greek” in the fall.

Michael enjoys gardening and surfing.
