“Samantha Who” star, Christina Applegate, was chosen my People Magazine to grace the cover of their highly anticipated 2009 “Most Beautiful” issue. The cover which flaunts Applegate’s amazing poise and beauty was unveiled on “The Early Show,” on Wednesday.

Applegate, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, has become a campaigner for early detection in young ladies. She has even started a charity that pays for MRIs instead of mammograms for at-risk women.

Amy Keith, a writer and reporter for People Magazine, commented on Christina saying

“She’s had such a harrowing and amazing year this year.”

Applegate, in response to her third People Magazine “Most Beautiful” appearance recognized her boyfriend Martyn Lenoble as a source of inspiration saying,

“I’m very grateful to Martyn for coming along at a time that he did because he’s been my rock through all of this. He gave me something to really want to live for and something to smile about.”

Others who made the “Most Beautiful People” list include: Slumdog Millionaire stars Freida Pinto and Dev Patel, Halle Berry, Simon Baker star of the “The Mentalist,” Cindy Crawford for the “no makeup” category, and Michelle Obama in the “Barack’s Beauties” category.

Creating the list of beauties takes three months, according to Keith.

Russell Brand is set to star in the upcoming remake of the 1991 dark comedy, “Drop Dead Fred.” Already attached to the remake of Dudley Moore’s Arthur, Brand is quickly becoming the king of comedy remakes.

The original “Drop Dead Fred” was a dark comedy that starred Phoebe Cates and Rik Maylall. It revolved around a woman with low self esteem named Lizzie, who allowed others to treat her poorly. One dreadful day she loses her job, husband, and has to move back in with her cruel mother. That’s when she reunites with her imaginary friend from childhood, Fred. He assures Lizzie he can bring the joy back to her life, but his behavior ends up being more destructive then helpful.

The film was a box office disaster, but gained a cult following over time.

Russell Edward Brand was born June 4, 1975. He is an English comedian, columnist, actor, and radio/television presenter. Brand is renowned for his flamboyant style, describing himself as an S&M Willy Wonka.

He was born in Grays, Essex, England to Ronald Henry Brand and Barbara Elizabeth. At the age of 15 he made his acting debut as “Fat Sam” in a high school version of Bugsy Malone.

Brand was accepted to the Drama Centre London in 1995. He was expelled in his final term for breaking a glass on his head, and then stabbing himself, because of a bad audience reaction.

Brand’s breakthrough in stand-up was in 2000 at the Hackney Empire New act of the Year Final. He did a one-man show titled “Better Now” in 2004, at the Edinburgh Festival. Then in 2006 he started a nationwide tour titled “Shame.”

Over the span of Brand’s career he has won many awards including: Time Out Best Stand-Up (2006), Loaded Laftas Best Stand-Up (2006), British Comedy Awards Best Newcomer (2006), 33rd Annual Television and Radio Awards Best Television Performer in a Non-Acting Role (2007), British Book Awards Biography of the Year (2008).

Land of the Lost is an upcoming film, based on the classic TV series. Flaunting an extraordinary cast, it will star Anna Friel as Holly, a brainy research assistant. Friel will star alongside mega-star Will Ferrel and Danny McBride, in this comedy adventure.

The movie revolves around Dr. Rick Marshall, who goes through a space-time vortex and ends up way back in time. Now Marshall lacks the weapons and skills to endure an alternate universe, plagued with killer dinosaurs and incredible creatures. Luckily for him a research assistant named Holly, and a redneck survivalist named Will are sucked through he vortex as well. With out any knowledge of The Land of the Lost, the three must rely on a primate named Chaka to lead them back to there time.

The film is set to open June 5.

Anna Louise Friel was born July 12, 1976. She is an English actress from Rochdale, located in Greater Manchester. In her teenage years she went to the Crompton House Church of England High School. At 13 she made her acting debut for a drama serial called G.B.H., this lead her to appearing in other British TV shows including Emmerdale, the soap opera Brookside, and Beth Jordache. In 1995, Friel received the National Television Award for Most Popular Actress for her role in Brookside.

Friel has a daughter, Gracie Ellen Mary Friel, with actor David Thewlis, who she began her relationship with in 2001.

Throughout her career she has been nominated or won several awards including a Golden Globe (nominee) for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series, Satellite Award (Nominee) for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series, Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play, TV Time Award for Best Actress, and TV Quick Magazine Award for Best Newcomer.

Friel is a supporter of the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign, alongside other celebrities such as Alan Carr, Angela Griffin, Edith Bowman, Twiggy, and Natalie Imburglia.

Chloe Moretz is set to star as Hit Girl Mindy Macready in Kick-Ass, a film inspired by the Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. comic book. The film revolves around a high school geek named Dave Lizewski, who is fixed on being a superhero even though he lacks athleticism or skill of any sort. Things get a little hairy when he finally meets some bad guys with lethal weapons. Chloe assumes the role of a preteen assassin who has been taught deadly skills by her father Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

Chloe Moretz was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Her debut TV role was in the series The Guardian, and she made her movie debut as Molly in “Heart of the Beholder.” Although she had appeared on television and movies before, it was the 2005 remake of “The Amityville Horror” that launched her into the public spotlight. Chloe was honored with a Young Artist Award nomination, for her performance as Chelsea Lutz in the remake.

Her career was propelled quickly after the Amityville film, landing her guest-star roles on TV, and a role in the family film Big Momma’s House 2.

Terminator Salvation is an upcoming post-apocalyptic war movie, which stars Christian Bale as John Connor, and Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright. See pictures and the Terminator 4 trailer here.

Terminator Salvation

“Terminator Salvation” is the fourth film of the Terminator series; it was directed by MCG, and stars Christian Bale as John Connor, and Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright, a cyborg who thinks he’s a human being. The film shows a younger version of Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin) the first terminator movies hero, and also depicts the T-800 Model 101 Terminators beginnings.

The film dismisses the plot of the previous Terminator films, which were centered on Terminators who travel time to destroy or defend John Connor. Instead it will take place in post-apocalyptic 2018, during the human resistance’s battle with Skynet.

Terminator Salvation Synopsis

John Connor the head of the Human Resistance against Skynet and its Terminator army, destiny is changed when Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) shows up on the scene. As Skynet makes preparations for its final assault, both John and Marcus go on a journey that brings them smack dab into the middle of Skynet’s operations. This quest leads them to a tragic secret that may bring mankind to its extinction.

The cast of Terminator Salvation includes Christian bale as John Connor, Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright, Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese, Bryce Dallas Howard as Kate Connor, Moon Bloodgood as Blair Williams, Roland Kickinger as the T-800 Model 101, and Common as Barnes.

Terminator Salvation is set to be released May 21, 2009.

The Soloist was written by Susannah Grant, and directed by Joe Wright. It is an upcoming American drama movie, based on the life of musician Nathaniel Ayers. As a music prodigy Ayers attended Julliard, but after two years at the school he became schizophrenic, and ended up living on the streets.

Jamie Foxx plays the role of the Violin and cello prodigy Nathaniel Ayers, and Robert Downey Jr. portrays Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez, the one responsible for discovering, and writing about Ayers in the newspaper.

The film will also feature Catherine Keener as Steve Lopez’s editor, Tom Hallander as Peter Snyder, a Philharmonic cellist who tries to help Ayers, Lisa Gay Hamilton as Nathaniel Ayers sister Jennifer, and Rachael Harris as Steve Lopez’s co-worker.

The real life classically trained Pianist Jamie Foxx, was taught stringed instruments by Ben Hong of the Los Angeles Philharmonics for the role.

The Soloist was armed with a $60 million dollar budget, and was filmed mainly in L.A. It was first set to be released on November 21, 2008, but then was pushed back to March 13, 2009, and now is finally set for April 24, 2009.

A little while ago director Michael Bay revealed never before seen footage of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at ShoWest. Now the incredible footage is available to everyone courtesy of Michael Bay himself.

During the footage, there’s a scene where Sam is giving Bumblebee the news that he is leaving him when he goes to college. Meanwhile, Megan Fox is taking off her clothes and changing outside the canopy. Then bam flashing lights, enormous robots take the screen doing what I guess enormous robots are meant to do, save or destroy.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Rundown

The battle for Earth is over, but the battle for the universe is just commencing. Cybertron after his return to Starscream, takes command of the Decepticons, and makes plans to come back to earth with might and power. The Autobots soon learn that Megatron’s dead machine corpse has been stolen from the Military base it was being held at. Skorpinox using his own spark revives Megatron, who is now alive and well wants his revenge. With Decepticon on the way and Megatron alive, the Autobots have quite the predicament on their hands.

The film stars Megan Fox, Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel, and will premiere June 24th, 2009.

Thomas Dekker is in the final negotiations for the role of Jesse in the upcoming “Nightmare on Elm Street” remake. Learn more about the movie, plus check out pictures, video, and Thomas Dekker’s biography here.

Thomas Dekker, who may be best known for his role as John Connor, on the hit Fox show “The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” is in final negotiations to play Jesse in the “Nightmare on Elm Street” Remake. Jesse, a Swim Team jock in the film will likely die at the hands or should I say blades of Freddy Kruger (Jackie Earle Haley).

Samuel Bayer is the film’s director, which will start shooting in May. The movie is scheduled for an April 16, 2010 release.

Thomas Alexander Dekker was born on December 28, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He began his acting career at age 6, and his first TV appearance was on the soap opera “The Young and the Restless.” In 1997 he was brought on as a regular for Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show. Dekker has also won three Young Artist Awards for his part in “The Land Before Time” movies.

In 2006, Dekker received the recurring role of Zach on the show “Heroes.” After that he went on to star as John Connor in the Fox show “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.”

With a strong musical background Dekker began to write his own music at age ten. At 15 he got his first record deal, but left when he couldn’t make the music he wanted. His first album titled Psyanotic is finished, and is currently in negotiations with record labels. The full album can be purchased on the iTunes store.

The Hurt Locker is an Award Winning war thriller that is based on the U.S. Army’s, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team, in present day Iraq. Check out The Hurt Locker trailer, and pictures here.

The Hurt Locker is an American war thriller film that was directed by Kathryn Bigelow. The movie has already won several awards including, best film at the Venice Film Festival - Arca Cinemagiovani Award (Arca Young Cinema Award), Venice Film Festival Human Rights Film Network Award, Venice Film Festival Venezia Cinema Award - “La Navicella” and was nominated for several others.

The entire film was shot on location over 42 days in Jordan, and is based on newly declassified information about the, U.S. Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team, that operates currently in Iraq.

Here’s the film’s plot. In present day Iraq, the U.S Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team, is in a constant struggle to maintain the upper hand. Everyone is a potential threat, and any object may turn out to be a lethal bomb.

The film stars Jeremy Renner, Guy Pearce, Ralph Fiennes, Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty, Christian Camargo, Evangeline Lilly, and David Morse, and runs for about 131 minutes.

The Hurt Locker will be released in the U.S. on June 26th 2009 in N.Y and L.A., and will open everywhere else in July.

The X-Men Origins: Wolverine video game trailer has finally been released. See the trailer, and pictures here.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is an upcoming superhero movie that will star Hugh Jackman, as Wolverine. The film was directed by Gavin Hood, and is a prequel to the X-Men trilogy. It will revolve around the life of Marvel comic book character Wolverine, before banding together with Team X. The focus point of the film will be Wolverine’s first encounters with Willaim Stryker and his brutal past.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine video game will be based off of the soon to be released film. Activision will make the game available for the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, PC, Playstation 3, Playstation 2, Sony PSP, and Nintendo DS on May 1st.

The game was developed with award-winning studio Raven Software, making it a more realistic game play experience. From Wolverines tormented beginnings, to his escape from the weapon X facility, out into African jungles, and beyond.

When asked by uncaged.com, “what do you think fans will love most about the X-Men Origins: Wolverine video game?” Environmental artists for the game Andy Dohr and Justin Dinges said

If you’re looking for censorship and party hats, this is the wrong place. Wolverine fans will appreciate how his character is handled. Wolverine is mature, complex; we don’t resort to ham-fisted, goofy, or profane dialogue to progress the plot. Action game fans will absolutely adore the combat that the team has put together; it’s very fast-paced, very responsive to player input, and incredibly varied in the amount of moves and animations Wolverine has to dispatch of his enemies. The combat really has to be seen to be believed.

Already dubbed a ‘Beyonce new movie,’ it stars the singer in her first non-musical dramatic role with with co-stars Ali Larter, fashion model turned actress who stars in the popular NBC TV series “Heroes,” and Idris Elba, a British TV, theater and movie actor and DJ who appeared in Ridley Scott’s “American Gangster” (and co-produced Jay-Z’s “American Gangster” soundtrack album) and recently in Guy Ritche’s “RocknRolla.” The movie also stars Scout Taylor-Compton, Christine Lahti, Bruce McGill, Ron Rogge, Jerry O’Connell and Richard Ruccolo.

Steve Shill directed the Obsessed movie from a screenplay by David Loughery. Will Packer is the producer. We may consider it a ‘Beyonce movie’ as the music superstar and her father Matthew Knowles are executive producers of the movie for Screen Gems. It is sometimes mistakenly referred to as the ‘Obsession movie’ or ‘Obsession the movie.’

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, international trailer has been released. Check out the video trailer, and pictures here.

There’s a great deal of anticipation for the Warner Bros. release of the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, footage that was shown at ShoWest. The footage gives us a glimpse into key parts of the upcoming film, and a first look at new characters.

In the meantime we will have to make do with the international trailer, while we wait for the ShoWest footage to be released. You can check out the trailer for the highly anticipated movie below.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is set to open July 17.

Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates! And then there’s Hermione, simmering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.

The highly-anticipated star trek film directed by J.J. Abrams is almost here. The film depicts the early years of Captain James T. Kirk the role made famous by William Shatner. Newcomer Chris Pine will assume the role of the courageous captain in the upcoming film, set to hit theaters May 8th.

Christopher Whitelaw Pine was born August 26, 1980 to Actors Robert Pine and Gwynne Gilford in Los Angeles, California. He is the grandson of actress Anne Gywnne and Hollywood attorney Max M. Gliford.

Chris and his sister Katie grew up in the San Fernando Valley. Pine holds an English degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He also spent his junior year studying English at the University of Leeds, in UK.

His acting career began with theater, performing at the Williamstown Theater, UCLA, and various theater companies.

Pine’s debut acting role was in an episode of ER that aired in 2003. Chris has appeared or is set to appear in the following films: The Princess Diaries2: Royal Engagement (2004), Confession (2005), Just My Luck (2006), Carriers (2007), Blind Dating (2007), Smokin Aces (2007), Bottle Shock (2008), Star Trek (2009), Small Town Saturday Night (2009), Green Lantern (2010).

Pine rejected the role in an upcoming film adaptation of “White Jazz,” so he could play the part of James T. Kirk, in the upcoming Star Trek.

“Public Enemies” is an upcoming action thriller, directed by acclaimed filmmaker, Michael Mann. The movie is based on a true story, and will star Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, and Marion Cotillard.

Depp will assume the role of John Dillinger, a renowned bank robber during the Great Depression. Dillinger is notorious for his flash speed while robbing banks, which makes him J. Edgar Hoover, and the FBI’s number one target.

Dillinger is relentless, no jail could contain him. His charm and daring jailbreaks win him the people’s favor as well as the affection of Billie Frechette (Marion Cotillard). As the public was lacking sympathy for the banks that lead them into the great depression.

Dillinger and his gang’s adventures intrigued the masses, however Hoover (Billy Crudup) believed that the fugitives capture would publicly launch the Bureau of Investigation, which eventually became the FBI.

Christian Bale will play Melvin Purvis, the FBI’s top agent whose mission is to catch Dillinger at any cost. However the outlaw and his gang of bandits always seem to outwit Purvis and his men. They finally are able to close in on Dillinger, after Purvis brings in a crew of Western ex-lawmen.

With such an amazing cast and director, this film could be epic. “Public Enemies” opens July 1.

Marion Cotillard was born September 30, 1975 in Paris, France to Jean-Claude Cotillard and Niseema Theillaud. She was born into an acting family, and has two younger twin brothers. As a child she began to perform on stage, and as she progressed into her teens, landed roles in television and cinema.

Marion has starred in films such as My Sex Life… or How I Got Into an Argument, Taxi, Big Fish (2003), A Very Long Engagement, (2004), and Good Year. The French actress has also earned an Academy Award, a BAFTA, and a Cesar Award.

Concerned for the environment, Cotillard has served as a Greenpeace spokeswoman. She has also appeared in almost forty film and television productions since 1993.

Cotillard currently resides with French actor/director Guillaume Canet, who she co-starred with in the 2003 French film Love Me If You Dare.
