David Carradine

If you are anything like me and you grew up watching David Carradine in Kung Fu, and then went around emulating the flying side kicks and karate chops all day long, then today is an extremely sad day. Carradine, 73, was found dead in his hotel room in Bangkok, reports ABC. According to his agent he was filming a new movie over there.

David Carradine was launched into the public eye for his role as Kwai Chang Caine in the hit 1970s TV show Kung Fu, and then later found momentous success once again in the Quentin Tarantino directed Kill Bill films.

A multi-faceted talent, David had appeared in over 200 motion pictures and television shows, and several plays. He was also a gifted director, writer, producer, and composer.

The initial police investigation indicates that the David, who was the eldest son of actor John Carradine and husband to Annie Bierman, hung himself from a cord of the type which is used to hang curtains. His manager says that the actor was in good spirits, and that his death was from natural causes.

The headlines read on June 4, 2009, “David Carradine Dies in Bangkok Hotel Room.”
