It looks like showrunners of the upcoming six part series Spartacus: God of the Arena have found their leading man! Actor Dustin Clare has just been cast in the series scheduled to air on Starz.
Also cast in the much anticipated Spartacus prequel are newcomers Jamie Murray and actress Marisa Ramirez. You can also expect to see series regulars Lucy Lawless as Lucretia, Peter Mensan in the role of Oenamaus, Maria Bennett as Crixus and John Hannah set to play Batiatus.

As a biography Dustin Clare, Spartacus: God of the Arena’s new leading man, is an Australian native who has previously been seen in the 2005 TV series entitled Headland. Clare was seen in a total of six episodes as the character Gareth Williams.
During 2006 the actor played the role of Riley Ward in McLeod’s Daughters as well as appearing in the TV series Air Austarlia and the movie entitled Iron Bird. Clare’s additional acting credits include the flick Cane Culter, the TV series Underbelly as Chris Flannery and the picture Early Checkout.
More recently you can catch Dustin in the TV show Satisfaction as Sean with upcoming roles in the 2010 motion picture Happenstance, the movie Kanowna and The Eye of the Storm where he will play the role of Col.
