Here is a full recap of the season — a literal ‘crash course’ if you have missed DWTS season 8!
Gilles Marini is the frontrunner The actor won international fame for his unforgettable role in ‘Sex and the City’ and the now-famous shower scene. Last week he and partner Cheryl Burke earned two perfect scores of 30 for a total score of 60 out of 60.
Olympic gold medal gymnast Shawn Johnson came second with 56 points out of 60. Melissa Rycroft (The Bachelor) earned 55 points and came in third.
The longtime favorite of viewers, rodeo champion Ty Murray and professional dancer Chelsie Hightower were sent home last week; their total scores were 48.
In the previous week, the most shocking elimination of the season by far was that of Grammy Award winning rapper Lil’ Kim and professional partner Derek Hough. They were narrowly defeated by audience voting which went in favor of rodeo star Ty Murray and his professional dance partner Chelsie Hightower.
Ty Murray’s departure follows that of aforementioned rapper Lil’ Kim’, country music singer Chuck Wicks, NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, (known as LT), comedians Steve-O and David Alan Grier, Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak (The Woz), and former Playboy model and Girls Next Door star Holly Madison. The first contestant eliminated was Belinda Carlisle, former Go-Go frontwoman followed by actress Denise Richards.
