After months of waiting for the first look at the ‘Dylan Dog: Dead Of Night’ Trailer I’m not impressed. Read more about the upcoming movie with former Superman Brandon Routh here.
After sitting on the back burner for sometime, Dylan Dog: Dead of Night has finally received the green light and will be released in the US on April 29th. With things finally moving forward for the film adapted from the Italian comic books of Tiziano Sclavi, director Kevin Munroe has dropped the first trailer and movie poster and unfortunately it looks to be in the same realm as the TV show Angel, from the late 90’s.
With an estimated $20 million dollar budget, the sci-fi thriller, starring actor Brandon Routh as Dylan Dog looks outdated, goofy and in need of some serious monsters and zombies that actually make you want to jump out your seat. Sure the stars involved is a plus, and the storyline is interesting but the trailer fails to capture its potential. Although Routh shirtless and wielding a powerful punch with a set of silver knuckles does help!
For the unknown, Dylan Dog is a private investigator whose office is the scary Louisiana bayou where he seeks out all those supernatural monsters, zombies, werewolves and vampires. Dog is typically seen in his “signature red shirt, black jacket, and blue jeans.” Check out the poster here.
Here’s a little about the plot – “Dylan must track down a dangerous artifact before a war ensues between his werewolf, vampire and zombie clients living undercover in the monster infested backstreets of New Orleans.”
The screenplay was penned by Thomas Dean Donnelly, and Joshua Oppenheimer, who are both currently working on Conan the Barbarian. Appearing alongside Brandon Routh in the Dead of Night is a cast line up of actress Anita Briem, Sam Huntington, Peter Stormare, and Taye Diggs. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think? Is it worth checking out in theaters this April?
