The King of Rock and Roll has had several items of memorabilia up for sale throughout the years. But some of his dark locks? Get the latest on Elvis’ hair for sale here.

Elvis Presley

The King of Rock and Roll enlisted in the Army back in 1958, and just like everyone else, his hair was buzzed off. Thanks to a friend of Elvis, the hair was preserved.

Fast forward 51 years later. The locks will be going up for auction (I wonder what kind of condition they’re in?) on October 18th in Chicago and guess how much it’s expected to set one back? $12,000! Of course, that isn’t the only thing going up for sale. Other memorabilia include photos, autographed records and clothing.

Leslie Hindman Auctioneers are handling the auction, and the Elvis items were gathered by Gary Pepper, one of the King’s closest friends.

I am an Elvis fan myself, having grown up listening to his music and watching his movies thanks to my father, and can remember the look on my parents’ faces when they found out he had died. I was only 8 years old at the time, but that was a moment I will never forget. So I ask you this…if you are a true die hard fan, knowing about the auction that has Elvis’ hair for sale, would you be bidding for your chance at owning a piece of the King? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. I have a video below…one of my favorite songs - Love Me Tender.
