Here is the first full-length trailer for Dito Montiel’s ‘Fighting’ starring Channing Tatum and Terrence Howard. The action drama will be released in theaters April 24, 2009. See photos and the movie trailer video here.
Channing Tatum portrays Shawn MacArthur who has moved to New York City from a small town and barely earns a living by selling counterfeit goods on the streets. Through a chance meeting, Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard), a scam artist, recognizes his natural talent for streetfighting. Enticing him with the opportunity to make substantial money, Harvey becomes Shawn’s manager in the underground world of street fighting, also known as the bare-knuckle circuit.
Dito Montiel directed the movie and co-wrote the screenplay with Robert Munic for Rogue Pictures. This is the second feature length motion picture from Montiel who directed the critically acclaimed independent film ‘A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints’ based on his autobiographical novel of the same title; a coming-of-age drama about a boy growing up in Astoria, New York in the 1980s starring Robert Downey, Jr., Channing Tatum, Rosario Dawson and Shia LaBeouf.
In addition to his role in Montiel’s debut film, Channing Tatum starred in Anne Fletcher’s ‘Step Up,’ the 2006 dance-romance movie and its sequel, ‘Step Up 2 the Streets.’
Terrence Howard appeared in ‘Iron Man’ (replaced by Don Cheadle in the forthcoming Iron Man 2 sequel) and was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in ‘Hustle & Flow’ (2005).
