‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ is the latest film by Judd Apatow. Apatow is taking his ‘Superbad’ and ‘Knocked Up’ success into a film about breaking up that releases April 18.
‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ is about a couple who’s dated for six years, Peter (Jason Segel) and Sarah (Kristen Bell), who break up leaving Peter devastated. His friends convince him to go on vacation to Hawaii in order to forget about her, but Sarah is vacationing, too, with her new boyfriend. The movie is described as the first “romantic disaster” comedy.
For anyone who has ever had their heart ripped out and cut into a billion pieces comes a hilarious, heartfelt look at relationships.
Universal studios has started a viral marketing campaign to promote the movie. They’ve created web sites and bought billboards with sayings like ‘My mom always hated you, Sarah Marshall’ or ‘You do look fat in those jeans, Sarah Marshall.’ The signs were bought in Texas because the film will play at AFI Dallas International Film Festival on April 6 before opening nationwide twelve days later.
