The highly anticipated movie was originally scheduled for release in November 2008, but rescheduled for a July 17, 2009 release. The entire trailer reveals new, previously unseen footage from the movie, much of it intensely suspenseful and foreboding, while displaying some well-crafted special effects.

In this newest movie in the series, Harry Potter begins his sixth year at Hogwards and Lord Voldemort causes turmoil and chaos all over Great Britain. Harry is determined to defeat him, but first he must assist Dumbledore finding the secret of Voldemort’s quest for immortality; the location of his Horcruxes.

Fans have a long wait until July 2009, but in some consolation, last month, IMAX announced that the movie will also be released in the 3D IMAX format

What bits will zoom out into the audience? Empire’s sources say that 25 minutes, total, will be in 3D, which will be split between the opening and the finale. They are guessing that it’s Voldemort’s attacks and the Astronomy Tower showdown.

Now 19 years old, Daniel Radcliffe stars once again as Harry Potter, with returning fellow cast members, Rupert Alexander as Ron Weasley, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, and acclaimed British actor Sir Michael Gambon as Albus Dumbledore.

The movie was shot in September 2007-May 2008 in various locations in the UK, including Fort William, Scotland, the village of Lacock, the cloisters at Lacock Abbey, Gloucester Cathedral, and the Millennium Bridge in London.
