“I Love You, Beth Cooper” is an upcoming teen comedy that stars Hayden Panettiere as the titular character Beth Cooper. It is based on the novel penned by Larry Doyle, and then later transcribed into a screenplay by the author. Panettiere is cast alongside: Alan Ruck (Mr. Cooverman), Samm Levine (Clerk), Cynthia Stevenson (Mrs. Cooverman), Shawn Roberts (Kevin), Paul Rust (Denis Cooverman), Andrea Savage (Dr. Gleason), and Lauren Storm (Treece Kilmer). The release date is set for July 10, 2009.
The film revolves around a geek who is the high school’s valedictorian; he declares his love for the most popular girl in school, while giving his graduation speech. To the nerd’s amazement, Beth Cooper shows up at his house that evening, and gives him the best night of his life.
Looks like another cookie cutter comedy to me, but who knows, it may be good. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
