“I Love You Phillip Morris” is an upcoming movie that stars Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. It received outstanding reviews at the Sundance Film Festival, and is a multidimensional story about love, prison break, and con men.
Carrey portrays Steven Russel, a friendly married man who is involved in a life altering car wreck, which makes him awaken to the fact that he is gay. Becoming a con man to fund his new high-end lifestyle he ends up in jail, where he meets Phillip Morris (McGregor), and the two fall for one another. When Morris is relocated they both attempt a series of prison breaks to be together.
It is reported that the movie was at one point pitched as “Catch Me If You Can” and “Brokeback Mountain” rolled into one. From the clips we can gather that this flick looks high-energy, fun, and very entertaining. It is set to open in February 2010.
