Still officially a rumor, actor and ladies man Jude Law has reportedly joined Thor. It is unknown at this point if the buzz across the web is true or who exactly the Hamlet star will portray.
The speculation began by way of Matthias Scheihofer who recently disclosed the information, and his possible own role in the film, during an interview with Germany GQ Magazine. The actor stated that both Jude Law and Robert Deniro were already signed on to star in the Kenneth Branagh project. Also rumored to possibly join the cast is Dominic Cooper in the part of Fandral.
Already cast in Thor so far are actors Chris Hemsworth in the lead role, Natalie Portman as Thor’s love interest, Colm Feore as a secret villain, Stellan Skarsgard, Brian Blessed and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.
Thor was written by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. Set to direct will be Kenneth Branagh. The movie is scheduled to begin shooting in January 2010 with a release date of sometime in 2011.
