Are Keira Knightley and boyfriend Rupert Friend split? She hinted that there might be a problem between her and her long-time boyfriend in a recent interview.
British actress Keira Knightly and Rupert Friend have been dating since 2005, but she hinted recently that the two might be on the verge of a split. She spoke recently about the similarities between herself and her sexy on-stage character in the West End show ‘The Misanthrope’. Her on-stage character is a 22-year-old movie star, Jennifer.
Knightley noted the similarities her and her character share such as being ‘an extremely well-known young actress’, living in a world surrounded by people older than her and then refused to comment on whether or not the two shared having a problem with her boyfriend.
Knightley, 24-years-old, has been dating Rupert Friend, 28-years-old, since they met on the set of ‘Pride and Prejudice’. The always frowning actress also talked about her view of fame. She doesn’t see it in the positive way she once did. Which may explain her apparent inability to appear in the least happy and her one time threat to quit Hollywood altogether because of the intrusions into her private life.
She explained: “If I’d thought about what fame meant when I was younger, it probably would have been for your name to be respected for something you do well. I don’t know that that is any longer what fame means. I don’t see it in its modern-day connotations as a particularly positive thing.”
So are the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star, Keira Knightley and her boyfriend Rupert Friend splitting? I guess we’ll find out if her hints are just her being coy or the real thing soon enough. While we are waiting, enjoy these pictures and video of the cute couple.
