Killshot Movie Trailer Video

Here is the second full-length trailer for ‘Killshot,’ starring Mickey Rourke. The suspense thriller will be released in theaters in the U.S. on January 23, 2009. See photos and the movie trailer video here.

The movie is based on the 1989 bestselling novel by Elmore Leonard of the same title. It was directed by John Madden, the Academy Award nominated director of ‘Shakespeare in Love,’ written by Hossein Amini and executive produced by Quentin Tarantino for The Weinstein Company.

Mickey Rourke stars as Armand “The Blackbird” Degas, a menacing hit man who targets a married couple, Carmen and Wayne Colson (Diane Lane and Thomas Jane) who unwittingly become unwitting eyewitnesses to an extortion scheme that goes awry and have been placed in the Federal Witness Protection program. Joe Gordon Levitt portrays Richie Nix, a psychopathic young killer and The Blackbird’s partner in the pursuit. Rounding out the cast are Rosario Dawson, Johnny Knoxville, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lois Smith, and Don McManus.

‘Killshot’ went into production in Toronto and Cape Girardeau on the Mississippi River in late 2005 and was originally set for release in mid-2006. The release date was pushed back several times, and only recently, in November 2008 after the threat of a direct-to-DVD release, was the movie set for release in theaters.

Mickey Rourke, who has resurrected his long-dormant career with his Golden Globe Award winning performance in Darrin Aronofsky’s ‘The Wrestler’ displays, even in this movie shot more than three years ago, the glimmers of his remarkable present-day comeback. It’s further evidence for all to see that the actor known for legendary performances in ‘Diner,’ ‘Angel Heart,’ and ‘Barfly’ has regained his acting prowess.

Diane Lane was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for her performance in Adrian Lyne’s ‘Unfaithful.’ She recently appeared in ‘Nights in Rodanthe’ with Richard Gere. Thomas Jane makes his directorial debut in the forthcoming mystery-thriller ‘The Dark Country’ in which he also stars alongside Lauren German, and Ron Perlman. Joseph Gordon-Levitt recently appeared in Spike Lee’s ‘Miracle at St. Anna’ and will star as the villain Cobra Commander in the highly anticipated ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ a live action adaptation of the popular toy franchise, set for release August 7, 2009.
