We’ve got another Shakespeare movie on our hands, and the two most likely actresses to be cast have been. In the upcoming “King Lear”, Keira Knightley has been tagged to play Cordelia, the king’s youngest daughter, and Gwyneth Paltrow is set to star as Regan, the nasty, middle daughter. No word on who will play Goneril, the eldest.
Keira Knightley To Star In “King Lear”
The “King Lear” movie was announced at Cannes Film Festival and is budgeted at $35 million. This will be the 21st remake of the Shakespeare classic, but only the second to show the “King Lear” nude scene - sorry fellas, that scene is probably going to Sir Anthony Hopkins.
The “King Lear” role makes a busy year for Keira. She is getting ready to release “The Edge of Love” and start the promo circuit with Sienna Miller. She is also filming “The Duchess”, another old English drama based on the life of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire.
