Kobe Bryant’s ex-maid is suing the basketball star and his wife. She claims that Kobe and Vanessa Bryant mistreated and underpaid her. Read about the ex-maid’s claims here.
Maria Jimenez claims Vanessa verbally abused her while she worked there from September 2007 to March 2008. A judge in Orange County California has thrown out some parts of Maria Jimenez’ suit, claiming that the treatment is part of the job.
Here’s part of his ruling:
“Here, plaintiff alleges that she was subjected to abuse and humiliation by Vanessa Bryant during her employment. This type of behavior is, unfortunately, part of many types of employment, and is to be expected as a risk inherent in the employment relationship.’’
He did, however, grant that she CAN file suit for wrongful termination. Another complaint the ex-maid had was that she wasn’t paid overtime, or given health benefits.
By far the most interesting part of the debacle is that the Bryant’s made her sign a confidentiality agreement, which could prevent her from dishing the specifics about what occurred during her employment. She apparently tried to work her way around that agreement so that she could speak to the media about what transpired.
Some information has made its way out, though. TMZ reported back in March about some of the horrors that Jimenez allegedly endured, which included being forced to stick her hand in dog poop, and being degraded in front of guests and family members. She even claims Mrs. Bryant violated her privacy by watching her change on security cameras.
Wow, I bet the Bryant’s had a heck of a time finding a new maid once these allegations came out! What do you think, is the ex-maid simply gold-digging? Or did Kobe Bryant’s wife really treat her this way? Give us your thoughts below.
I’ve thrown in some video and pictures related to the issue as well.

She may or may not be lying, if I were subject to the treatment she says she has gone through, I would do the same thing she is. Wouldn’t you? Don’t judge her, I personally think that what she says has a certain ring of honesty to it, though the article seems as if it is trying to make her out subtly as a liar.

I am sure of it. The Bryants seem like the type to treat their staff like crap. And I am sure the wife doesn’t trust her husband around any female anymore. She may be sping to catch something on camera so her man can buy her a giant jewel to make it all better.

…as for the judge’s ruling..Is he nuts? If I’m a fireman I expect to get burned, but otherwise I don’t think abuse, humiliation is part of any employment contract, implied or otherwise. I have witnessed a lot of female friends misplace their anger on domestics. Mad with hubby because he is catting about…take it out on the made. Whether or not Ms Jimenez id telling the truth, who knows, but abuse and mistreatment happens routinely and the judge has just given license to it. He should be censured.

Yea, it sounds like that judge is a typical Lakers fan.
My guess is the maid’s claims are accurate and her intentions are true.
And I’ll bet Kobe and his wife are not fun to work for. Despite all the money, fame, and ability to put points on the board, your employers are still a rapist and a jewelry whore who looks the other way.
I hope Ms. Jimenez finds a job where she can have dignity.

I beleive everything the maid says. Vanessa couldn’t do anything to the other woman so she’s taking it out on her. Vanessa looks like she has a mean streak. They are both guilty past and present especially Kobe. The judge should be fire for making that statement. STAND YOUR GROUND LADY

I go for the maid. Most people who have money or status think they can treat people any way they want and then still expect to be respected by their employees or even fans or neighbors. Thes4e people are not the good old boys they propse to be. Most of these people forget who made them who they are.

Having a fair amount of experience with wealthy people,(family and associates) I can attest to the fact that they absolutely demean their domestic help for any and no reason. Most, not all, of them were born into money and simply view anyone with less as a member of an inferior species. And this occurs no matter how scummy their own behavior is.

what do you expect if you accept a job working for a rapist.
