Multi-talented Mandy Moore has begun work on her latest project. Her new gig involves the lead role in the Disney 3D movie Rapunzel.
Disney Pictures has found their Rapunzel and it’s Mandy Moore! The always happy Moore will be the voice of the fairy tale princess. Excited about her new role, Moore told Empire recently in an interview:
“I just feel honored to be in such good company. Being a Disney Princess is kind of every girl’s ultimate dream.”
Describing her character, which Moore already began work on, the actress says Rapunzel is:
“sort of the quintessential sassy, feisty Disney heroine. She’s quite modern, quite a curious girl as well. She’s just coming into her own and is anxious to figure out a way to see the world around her that she’s been kept away from for so many years.”
Also starring in Rapunzel alongside Moore will be Zachary Levi of Chuck. The film will be directed by Byron Howard and Nathan Greno with Roy Conli as the film’s producer. The movie will reportedly hit theaters sometime in 2010.
