Actor Mark Strong will appear in Robin Hood coming this Summer alongside Russell Crowe, who has scored the title role and actress Cate Blanchett. Strong will play the role of Sir Godfrey.
Aside from Strong you can also expect to see Matthew MacFayden, in the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham, actor Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, Max Von Sydon, William Hurt and Scott Grimes.
Mark Strong on his role in Robin Hood - “I play King John’s right-hand man who is a bit of a bastard – there’s lot of horse riding, lots of threatening people with enormous swords,” Strong said of Sir Godfrey. He also explained his role’s transition from Guy of Gisborne to Godfrey, saying “A year ago I was playing the Guy of Gisborne character but the story isn’t the Robin Hood story. Although all the characters are all involved, it’s a different narrative.”
Directed by Ridley Scott, the action piece out in theaters on May 14th will follow “the story of an archer in the army of Richard Coeur de Lion who fights against the Norman and becomes the legendary hero known as Robin hood.” The screenplay was written by Brian Helgeland.

As a biography Mark Strong, Robin Hood actor, was born in August of 1963. The forty-seven year old is a native of London, England. Turned professional actor in 2005, Mark hasn’t wasted any time adding dozens of roles to his resume.
Mostly seen in the movies, Strong has appeared in Revolver as Sorter, Walk Away and I Stumble, Syriana as Mussawi, Tristan and Isolde, Low Winter Sun and Scenes of a Sexual Nature in the role of Louis.
In the last couple of years Mark Strong has been cast in Body of Lies, Endgame, The Odds, Sherlock Holmes alongside Jude La and Robert Downey Jr., and the movie entitled Kick-ass. Mark will also appear in John Carter of Mars as the character Matai Shang alongside FNL’s Taylor Kitsch, Green Lantern as Sinestro and The Guard.
