Mischa Barton has a long string of lesbian roles and her latest film “You and I” just keeps her streak alive. The movie is based on real events taken from the book “t.A.T.u. Come Back.” t.A.T.u is a musical group out of Russia who became popular and somewhat controversial because they were portrayed as lesbians. You can see the trailer and several other videos of Mischa’s lesbian roles below. This character type has become so common place for Mischa, people are wondering if her life is imitating her art.
Rumor has it Mischa has totally dipped out on promoting her new film because it’s so terrible. It premiered at The Cannes Film Festival in May but according to The New York Post, Mischa was nowhere to be seen.
“She hasn’t pulled out of interviews, she’s pulled out of everything . . . Her room is here, she is here, but trying to get the two together has just been impossible. We just don’t know where Mischa is.”
However, Barton did show up to the “The Britains Best” award ceremony as a presenter. See more video after the jump.
Mischa’s most main stream lesbian role was probably with Olivia Wilde on “The O.C.” When the show debuted in 2003, it was the top rated drama with young adults. Ratings slowly declined and producers tried to spice things up by putting Mischa’s character, Marissa Cooper in a lesbian relationship with Alex Kelly, played by Wilde. Barton was eventually killed off and the show was finally cancelled in 2007, but the hot scenes are still available. Check out the beach kiss below.

Mischa doesn’t play a lesbian in “Lost and Delirious,” but she tells the story of her female roommates Pauline, played by Piper Perabo and Victoria, played by Jessica Paré. Their secret affair is discovered by Victoria’s sister and subsequently ended driving Pauline crazy. You can see clips of the film below. Mischa looks very young in this film.
Mischa Barton Lesbian Roles
Mischa plays a supporting role again as the daughter in the film “Julie Johnson.” Mischa’s mother (Lili Taylor) leaves their father and enters into a relationship with Claire, played by Courtney Love. Again, Mischa is young and not playing a lesbian herself, but she seems to gravitate to these movies.

The television show, “Once and Again,” aired from 1999 to 2002. Barton appeared in 8 episodes where she mostly starred opposite Evan Rachel Wood. The two played Katie and Jessie respectively and the television series portrayed the girls exploring a romantic relationship. You can see one of the kisses they share below.

Mischa may be just playing the role, over and over, but she also admits to feeling more comfortable with women on camera than men. Specifically on “The O.C.,” Mischa said it was more natural and “It’s probably easier than it is most times with the boys.” I don’t think Mischa really prefers the ladies over men, but with this track record it’s not surprising people talk.
