Here is the first full-length trailer for Benny Boom’s ‘Next Day Air.’ The action comedy will be released in theaters in the U.S. on May 8 2009. See photos and the movie trailer video here.
The movie stars Donald Faison as Leo Jackson a delivery driver who mistakenly delivers an overnight shipment of 10 kilos of high quality cocaine to the wrong address, thus setting in motion a hilarious chain of events involving the search for the package by the enraged dealer who sent it, the fearful would-be recipients who did not get the package and the accidental recipients who are attempting to sell it.
‘Next Day Air’ also stars and Mos Def as Leo Jackson’s co-worker, Eric. Mike Epps, Yasmin Deliz, Omari Hardwick and Wood Harris round out the cast.
The movie is the feature film debut of veteran music video director Benny Boom who has directed videos for numerous top music artists including LL Cool J, Nas, New Kids on the Block, 50 Cent, Keyshia Cole, Busta Rhymes, Robin Thicke, T-Pain and Nelly. The script is written by first-timer Blair Cobbs and produced by Bryan Turner, Bruce McNall, Scott Aronson.
Donald Faison is known for his role as Chris Turk in the NBC comedy-drama ‘Scrubs,’ and Toots in the MTV series ‘Clone High.’ Rapper and actor Mos Def has received Golden Globe, Emmy, and Grammy Awards nominations and most recently appeared as Chuck Berry in the 1950s era music biopic Cadillac Records, which also starred Beyonce Knowles and Adrien Brody.
‘Next Day Air’ was shot in September 2007 but was without a distributor until Summit Entertainment, which picked up ‘Twilight’ after other studios passed on it, picked it up.
