The IRS has hit actor Nicolas Cage with a $6.2 million tax bill. How did he get that far behind? Find out here, and see photos and video.
How did Nicolas Cage end up with such a massive tax bill? Well, according to the Internal Revenue Service, back in 2007 he began to fall behind on his taxes. He allegedly failed to pay $6,257,005 in income taxes that year, which has resulted in his current predicament.
To pay the multi-million dollar tax bill, he plans to sell his house in Louisiana.
The state of Louisiana has reportedly put a lien on the home, which is only worth a portion of the $6.2 million he already owes. If the government is able to cash in on the $3.55 million dollar home, Cage will still owe $2.65 million.
Nicolas Cage has had tax trouble before. In September of 2008 the IRS made allegations that he improperly deducted personal expenses. That claim resulted in an agreement by Cage to pay more than half a million dollars in back taxes, including interest and penalties.

amazing how “famous people” “stars” “celebraties” what ever you want to call them
they can get away with not paying the irs for years … however after i file my taxes and i owe the government $2,000 – $5,000 they are hounding me, God forbid you miss a payment the government is the first to threaten to garnish your pay check

I am soooo tired of Hollywood being all left wing, and NOT paying their taxes! My husband has a friend who is a director and the loser never pays his taxes, but is always up on his soapbox to us about his left wing causes. We PAY our taxes AND support charities, get out of our faces!!!

It gives me no satisfaction in seeing anyone, not just Nicolas Cage but anyone facing a crisis. There are so many people who “get-off” on seeing other people down. This is just one example of why it is so hard for everyone to come as one. If I was in a position financially to make a difference in a person’s life, I would. So the next time you see a person lying down and can’t get up…lend them your hand to pick them up, instead of kicking them.
