Gwen Stefani and the gang are reportedly suing Activision for showcasing them as a “virtual karaoke act!” Get the details surrounding the No Doubt Band Hero Game lawsuit here!
No Doubt is so unhappy with the way they were used in the new Band Hero game, they have filed a lawsuit!
Band manager Jim Guerinot spoke out about the No Doubt Band Hero Game stating:
“The band [members] are bitterly disappointed that their name and likeness was taken and used without their permission. They agreed to play three No Doubt songs as a band. . . . Activision then went and put them in 62 other songs and broke the band up [and] never even asked.”
One of the most valid complaints for me when I read this is that No Doubt isn’t content with “the Character Manipulation Feature” which they say “results in an unauthorized performance by the Gwen Stefani avatar in a male voice boasting about having sex with prostitutes.” The band goes on to explain that although they “are avid fans of the Rolling Stones and even have performed in concerts with” them, this still is unacceptable.
Tell us, have you played the No Doubt Band Hero Game and if so does the band have a valid point?
