Notorious” is directed by George Tillman Jr., (“Soul Food” and “Men of Honor”) and written by Reggie Rock Bythewood (“Get on the Bus,” “Biker Boyz”). Up and coming Brooklyn rapper Jamal “Gravy” Woolard stars as The Notorious B.I.G.

In just a few short years, The Notorious B.I.G. rose from the streets of Brooklyn to become one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time. Celebrated actress Angela Bassett stars as Christopher Wallace’s mother, Voletta Wallace. Rounding out the cast and playing characters who are well known in the hip-hop music scene; Derek Luke as Sean Diddy Combs, Anthony Mackie as Tupac Shakur, Antonique Smith as Faith Evans, Sean Ringgold as Suge Knight, Charles Malik Whitfield as Wayne Barrow and Naturi Naughton as Lil Kim.

Christopher Wallace’s mother Voletta Wallace is the movie’s executive producer and the distributor is Fox Searchlight.

In casting Jamal Woolard to play her son, Wallace said, “He is a talented and charismatic actor, and I am excited that he will bring Christopher’s character to life” and that Gravy’s “charming personality, warm spirit, wonderful sense of humor and beautiful smile” captured the essence of B.I.G..
