Patrick Swayze is using medical marijuana to combat the effects of the chemotherapy treatments he is receiving for his pancreatic cancer. Read more about the story plus see photos and video below.
According to the National Enquirer, (I know, consider the source), Patrick Swayze is using medical marijuana to relieve the symptoms of nausea, insomnia and anxiety – all stemming from the chemotherapy treatment he is receiving for his pancreatic cancer.
A source had told the tab that Swayze had been losing weight quickly because he couldn’t keep any food down. The source went on to add, “He was so weak, he needed help getting around”.
Friends of the Dirty Dancing star convinced the actor to try marijuana, and it has been reported that it has helped. “He’s recently gained a little weight and feels more normal than he has in months.”
Swayze was diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas back in January of 2008.
Readers – what do you think of Patrick Swayze using medical marijuana to help with his chemotherapy side effects? Leave me a comment, plus see photos and video below.

Oh, good Lord in heaven. The man is dieing, and in horrible pain. And having to do it publicly. I know the pain is horrible because my mother died of pancreatic cancer. If he wants to smoke pot, crack, and shoot up heroin, chasing it with tequila and beer, so what? If it gives him and relief, if he even thinks it helps a tiny bit, I don’t care, and I don’t think God does either.

Pot should be legalized. If it can help relieve someones pain then why not use it. To me presription pain killers are far worse. If Patrick Swayze wants some relief go for it. Hell if CA wants to get out their financial predicament then they need to just legalize pot.

My mother had pancreatic cancer about 12 years ago and was under hospice care.
They prescribed pot pills for her. This was the only thing that helped with the pain and nausea. She never would have taken them if she was told what it was.
Thank God for the doctors and druggist.
Go for it Patrick.

I have watched loved ones wither away from cancer and be allergic to pain medication. I know he’s trying to have quality along with quantity of life with his wife and loved ones. He was against using pain medication while trying to film his last sitcom so I think there’s a time it should be accepted. It was on the planet without help from man so what does that tell you? My heart goes out to him as he’s one of my all time favorite actors and I love the song “She’s Like the Wind.” Keep pushing Patrick!

Whats ’shocking’ is that the federal government has mandated the suffering of untold numbers of people because of a misplaced sense of morality.
I’m glad Patrick is still around, pancreatic cancer is so very deadly. Beat the odds my friend, beat the odds.

What the HELL is wrong with this country? Watch the PBS series on pot and other drugs.then you can see all this bs. about pot is nothing more then politics .garbage let anyone use it. control it like you do booze.it makes me crazy. to think some fat cats in wa.can say who can feel better from disease.ridden bodies .I BET IF THEIR LOVED ONES, OR THEMSELVES.were fighting for their lives, it would be fine to use pot. What a dumb question! Patrick is trying to deal with pancreatic cancer, with the Chemo treatments. If smoking pot really helps him then so be it. It saddens me so much for anyone to go through that. From what I know of Patrick has a very strong moral heart when it comes to his family. I pray for him to keep up the fight.

Mike – I merely asked what everyone’s thoughts were regarding Swayze’s medical marijuana use. I don’t believe that is a dumb question
