Sacha Baron Cohen was the subject of an implied threat made by the terrorist group the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades. Learn more about the story, plus find video and pictures here.
Sacha Baron Cohen may have made a big mistake when he involved al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, a group that is designated as terrorists by Israel, the U.S., Canada, Japan, and the European Union in his film “Bruno.”
In the movie, Bruno arranges a meeting with the leader of the group, Ayman Abu Aita, with intent to be kidnapped. Outraged, the Brigades released a veiled threat against Sacha Baron Cohen stating:
“We reserve the right to respond in the way we find suitable against this man.”
And also that:
“This joke is very dangerous. We are not in the United States, we are not in Europe, we are in the Middle East and the world operates differently here.”
According to reports, Aita will also be taking legal action against the “Bruno” star and Universal Studios.
