Mandate Pictures has optioned Will Reiser’s script which is the story of his battle with cancer, at age 25. Seth Rogen will work with his writing-producing partner Evan Goldberg and Ben Karlin on the movie. Seth Rogen has worked with Goldberg on numerous movies, including “Da Ali G Show,” “Knocked Up,” “Pineapple Express,” and “Superbad.” Ben Karlin is a nine-time Emmy Award winner, as writer, head writer and executive producer of “The Daily Show” and as a co-creator/executive producer of “The Colbert Report.”
Without a doubt, Rogen and his associates have already established a record of success, as they confront this challenging comedic subject matter.
Rogen continues to be Hollywood’s comedy golden boy right now, having just appeared in the action stoner comedy Pineapple Express, with the Kevin Smith comedy Zack and Miri Make a Porno set to hit cinemas in the US later this month. He’s also set to slim down to play The Green Hornet alongside Stephen Chow’s Kato.
“I’m With Cancer”, a comedy about cancer. Groundbreaking? We are curious to find out.
