“Alice in Wonderland” is an upcoming Tim Burton directed adaptation of the classic Lewis Carroll novel. The movie stars Johnny Depp (Mad Hatter), Helena Bonham Carter (TheRed Queen), Anne Hathaway (The White Queen), Mia Wasikowska (Alice), Matt Lucas (Tweedledee and Tweedledum), Stephen Fry (The Cheshire Cat, and Alan Rickman (Caterpillar).
Surrealistic best describes Burton’s quirky style, and Alice in Wonderland should be no exception. Producer Richard Zanuck described the film as having been “Burton-ized”. Most of the original elements will be evident in this version of the story, but it’s the first time that they have ever been presented in this kind of surreal fashion.
Shooting for the film only lasted 40 days, ending in December. After that another process begins. Live action has to be combined with CG animation and motion-capture creatures, and then turned into 3-D.
